Personal Profile

The very reason you are seeking therapy is, at its core, due to being in a level of pain and looking for relief from your pain.  Choose me for relationship issues, loss/grief, trauma symptoms, mother/father/family wounding, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, not feeling good enough, alcohol/food misuse or life dis-satisfaction.

We are in relationship with others from the moment we are conceived and what may be happening right now is you are living in a survival way, rather than a thrive way, and every single coping strategy that you have adopted to now has worked 100% as you are alive!  These survival coping strategies will now be causing internal pain.  In a nutshell you learnt to adapt / cope with life as opposed to be authentic within it (your true self).

Symptoms of ‘adaption’ can include control, perfectionism, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, etc. as the underlying issues are linked to internal fears which are created to stay / be in relationship at a cost to you for fear of rejection, abandonment, inadequacy, not being liked. etc. Effective way of coping may now have you feeling empty, alone, not good enough, under threat, etc. and you may feel like you do not have the tool box for life (you do, it has just been unused so is a bit rusty!). When you are in inner conflict you may use learnt behaviours such as avoidance, withdrawal, self-punishment, self-neglect, sulking or alcohol misuse.

My style of counselling / psychotherapy is relational which means we work together looking at the 'how' of your way of living today. Together we find ways to ‘put humpty dumpty back together again’ so you can live authentically to feel satisfaction, inner contentment, fulfilment and peace. You will embrace your choice and know you have freedom, as you wish to use it.

Whether as an individual or couple, let's work on you thriving rather than just surviving.
