Clinical supervision is an important professional requirement for practising therapists and is required by many professional bodies.
For example, BACP requires registered members to have appropriate supervision in place, while specific membership and accreditation categories have additional supervision requirements. BACP currently requires a minimum of 1.5 hours of supervision per calendar month for accredited members and for members working towards accreditation.
Requirements can vary between professional bodies, membership categories, training routes and individual circumstances. Therapists should therefore check the current requirements of their own professional body or registration/accreditation route.
